Welcome to the Classic Banjo Music Store. Here you will find rare recordings of classic banjo artists, all fully restored for your enjoyment.
These recordings are taken from old vinyl, 78s, and cassette tapes. In many cases, the tapes were copied many times, contributing to the degradation of the music. The original music was copied either at a low volume so the music was barely audible or, in the case of the vinyl and 78s, from scratched and dirty originals.
The musicians on these recordings have long passed on but the musicianship they exhibited deserves to be preserved for others to enjoy. Digital techniques were employed to remove as many imperfections as possible. Though it is impossible to replace sounds that were not on the available media, the restored versions of their music will provide a listenable and, hopefully, enjoyable experience.
